United Kingdom Tap Water Quality

UK tap water is among the most tightly regulated in the world and is generally safe to drink. Main concerns are chlorination byproducts (trihalomethanes), lead leaching from older pre-1970 plumbing, and regional hardness. A good carbon filter removes chlorine taste and most disinfection byproducts. If your home was built before 1970 and has not been re-plumbed, consider a filter certified for lead removal.
