What it is
A mixed benzyl-butyl phthalate diester, clear liquid used in vinyl and adhesives.
What it does
Plasticizer in vinyl flooring, food conveyor belts, and synthetic leather. Occasional historic use in personal care.
Why it’s a concern
BBP is classified as a reproductive toxicant in the EU.
