A high-molecular-weight branched phthalate similar to DINP.
What it does
Plasticiser in PVC cable insulation, car interiors, and some flexible plastics.
Why it’s a concern
DIDP shows weaker anti-androgenic activity than short-chain phthalates but is restricted in the EU above 0.1% in toys and childcare articles that can be placed in the mouth. The European Chemicals Agency continues to evaluate aggregate exposure from dust and indoor air.
